Stacey provides intensive case management to a diverse group of young people. Stacey’s clients range in complexity, often experiencing additional challenges such as mental and/or physical illness, unemployment, substance misuse, domestic and family violence, and/or complex trauma.
Stacey works with exceptional dedication to support young people through all walks of life. Stacey’s passion for her work is contagious and radiates through everything she does in her role. Over the past four years working in the Canberra youth sector, she has demonstrated remarkable maturity, commitment, and growth. Her ability to build meaningful relationships with complex and diverse young people is truly inspiring. Stacey continuously builds trusting, lasting relationships with young people by being a consistent, accountable, and caring adult in their lives.
Stacey’s passion and commitment to social justice is second to none. She is a fierce advocate for young people who have been let down by the systems designed to keep them safe, exposed to harm and/or discrimination, excluded from accessing needed support, stereotyped by services, and/or treated unfairly, and more. Stacey dedicates significant time and effort to ensuring that all young people have access to opportunities and positive outcomes regardless of where they come from.
Stacey has shown great collaboration with services and training providers to set young people up to become employment ready. She organises fun excursion day trips for young people to build on life skills through outdoor education, free dental care for young people and weekly drop off for any emergency relief that families need.
Stacey’s influence extends beyond her direct work with young people. Stacey actively seeks training and development opportunities, contributes to youth forums and focus groups as well as being an observer in the Priority Needs Recommendation (PNR) panel. Stacey’s positive attitude and resilience shine through challenging days. Stacey is an inspiration to her colleagues and young people alike. Stacey’s continued dedication has transformed many young people’s lives.
