This briefing provides an overview of the key initiatives announced in the ACT Budget 2024-2025 that affect young Canberrans aged 12-25 and their families.
The ACT Budget 2024-2025 includes a limited number of initiatives for young people and families; many of which build upon previous Budget initiatives. A summary of these is provided in the Briefing. We also highlight areas for further investment:
- The ACT is experiencing a child and youth mental health crisis:
a) Investment in the ACT Mental Health NGO Sub-Sector
b) Investment in Canberra Health Services
c) Investment in system coordination and support - Preventing and responding to racism in schools and services
- Adequate indexation for community services
