Short Term Projects – Merit Pool

The Youth Coalition maintains an open merit pool for individuals interested in short-term projects or employment opportunities.  Applications are open year-round.

We offer a range of meaningful work across different areas. Depending on current priorities, opportunities may include leading or contributing to:

  • Conducting consultations or co-design workshops with young people, parents/carers, youth services, and other stakeholders
  • Primary and secondary researching activities, and analysis on issues affecting young people
  • Coordinating and facilitating meetings, events, and working groups, and communities of practice
  • Developing or revising raining packages, practice tools, and other sector resources
  • Disseminating information and resources across the sector
  • Contributing to policy development and analysis

We aim to build a diverse pool of individuals with a range of skills and interests. Applicants may be ‘matched’ to specific opportunities as they arise.

We welcome applications from people seeking:

  • Short term, project based contracts
  • External secondments (with support from your current employer)
  • Flexible job sharing opportunities
  • Casual opportunities to support one off projects

Our intention is to create opportunities that allow individuals to develop new skills, build sector connections, and contribute to the work of the Youth Coalition.

For those interested in secondment opportunities, we are happy to liaise with your current employer to ensure that this would be of benefit to both you, and your organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a range of stakeholders, including government, service providers, and young people. You will contribute to meaningful projects that aim to improve outcomes young people and their families in the ACT.

To submit an Expression of Interest, please email:

  • A current CV or resume
  • A brief cover letter (1-2 pages) outlining your skills and interest
  • Please also indicate which types of opportunities (e.g. research, policy, facilitation) you are most interested in.

 

Short listed applicants will be notified in writing and included in the merit pool. As new opportunities emerge, we will contact suitable applicants to discuss available roles, including contract, secondment, or short term employment options.
